Michelle Obama Rocks It Across The Pond

The First Lady and President Obama made a state visit to London recently and the politics of it all mattered little compared to what Mrs. Obama wore. :)

She met the ever-stylish Duchess of Cambridge (wearing Reiss that sold out online approximately 5seconds later) in a pastel Tfank ensemble...this actually wasn't my favourite look becuase it was a little to pastel-y for my taste. However, it was probably quite appropriate for the formality and setting. It also echoes The Queen's pastel choices.

Then there was the navy Narciso Rodriguez coat worn over the deep purple Roksanda Ilincic dress. I love this colour combination. Its very fresh and trendy, yet classic enough for the occasion.

The black Ralph Lauren worn to the American hosted dinner was classic and beautiful. And obviously a great political choice being the "All-American" label that it is. However, I felt it lacked the flair that her previous choices had.

Last, but certainly not least, the TOM FORD!!! This white, magnificent gown was a perfect choice. It compliments her body shape, skin tone, and the political correctness of the occasion. If I have to say something negative, I will say that the gloves took away from the gown a bit but I believe they were worn for the formalness of the occasion. The look is scrutinized below - the sparkly, avant garde designed earrings being my favourite choice.
