Prada
Fendi

Gucci
Dolce & Gabbana

What to take away from Milan Fashion Week Spring RTW 2011? Other than the fact that it was AMAZING!!?? In my opinion, the best of the Spring 2011 shows and honestly the best I have seen in quite some time.

Here are my faves...

Dolce and Gabbana
Soooo quintessential Italian woman - leopard, lace, bustiers, doilies. I know they said they took their inspiration from Sicilian wedding hope chests but there is nothing virtuous about this collection. It is Sophia Loren, Italian va-va-voom-iness at its best! (Yes, I just made that up.) I want every piece.

Gucci
Wow! Colour-blocking, tassels, the epic Gucci leather belt. This collection is not for the weak-hearted. Probably Frida's best if you ask me. It was incredibly sexy and sophisticated like the Gucci woman is but at the same time incredibly wearable and street-ready.

Prada
Oh Miuccia, how fabulous was this collection? Very fabulous. At first, I must admit, I was not so sure. But then......it grew on me. It was so much fun, so much colour, so much exuberance...in a world that seems so sad and uncolourful at times. I love that she went in that direction. Striped fur stoles? That's awesome. Bananas? Monkeys? Stripes? Oh my.

Fendi
And of course, speaking of Italian powerhouses, we can't forget Fendi. Karl produced a collection of classic colours, breezy dresses, the 'lantern' sleeve and understated elegance. He truly is a talented man to produce such incredibly differing shows. Chanel is certainly not an understated show.

Overall, Milan produced some incredible pieces and solid trends. Not only that but every designer excelled at what they do best and every collection was something different. After a NY Fashion Week where I thought I saw a lot of ho-hum same thing.....Milan was absolutely breathtaking!
